Royalton Hotel New York
Royalton Hotel guests have every reason to feel like royalty. The Morgans Hotel Group that owns this midtown Manhattan icon commissioned legendary designers to ensure that every nook and cranny of the Royalton Hotel exudes nothing but magnificence.
In a world where reinvention is a byword, Royalton Hotel lets the whole world see the hotel’s new look while maintaining its grandeur and mystique with its fusion of art, culture, the good life and home.

Roman and Williams, the New York design firm, recreated the Royalton Hotel’s majestic lobby—where those who traveled worlds away from the Far East, Africa, and Europe, or just from the nearby states, hobnob with New York’s best and finest people. Touted as the marriage of an icy cast-glass vestibule and brutalist steel, and brass furnishings with soft suede upholstery, thick leather walls and hide-covered chairs to create a dark, sexy and luxurious space, the design of Royalton Hotel’s lobby indeed makes every guest feel the luxury from the ground up.
John McDonald, world-renowned restaurateur, brought to life two destinations for good food, delightful conversations and wonderful ambience: Brassier 44 and Barr 44. Brasserie 44 is a cozy restaurant that can seat a hundred. It offers an all-American menu splashed with fresh fruits and other seasonal fare. Bar 44 sort of replicates what Round Bar used to be for Royalton patrons with a bar and pre-theater menus. Roman and Williams’ wand also touched the restaurant with rope-made arches, glowing glass globe clusters, honeyed teak walls and seats.
Charlotte Macaux designed all 168 rooms and suites equipped with new furniture in relaxing hues with all the flair and drama of a stateroom found in posh luxury liners.
And who would miss Philippe Starck’s touch in all these? The French designer who thought of it all and brought together the masterpieces of all other big names of various specializations left his indelible mark on even the most diminutive of rooms of the hotel—the bathrooms. But would you call slate bathrooms that boast of five-foot Roman soaking tubs diminutive at all? Starck is responsible for Royalton Hotel’s overall romantic look and feel of transoceanic travel aboard a steamship. Many of the rooms come with working fireplaces and unique furniture designed by Starck himself.

One night at the Royalton Hotel simply wouldn’t be enough.
